Central Falls Restaurant Week 2023 guide to deals

Dining deals abound for 2023 Central Falls Restaurant Week, which runs through Sunday, Sept. 3. You can travel the world foodwise at restaurants that feature Portuguese, Mexican, Colombian, Peruvian, American and Central American cuisine. Ice cream and breakfast items are on the menu as well.

If you've never been to Central Falls, this is the week to go. You can also hop on a boat and take a ride on the Blackstone River. Leave from Central Falls Landing at 5 Madeira Ave. Learn more at rivertourblackstone.com.

As for the international cuisine, here's a taste of what's available:

Portuguese kale soup and a pulled pork sandwich make for a $15.99 special at Beirao Restaurant, 1374 Broad St.

Hong Kong street food, including bubble waffles and crepes, are on the menu at Bubble Waffle Cafe with specials for both ranging from $8 to $15. It's at 870 Dexter St.

El Paisa Restaurant and Bar, 598 Dexter St., has $11 specials including a fried fish filet meal with plantains and a salad.

At Shark's Peruvian Cuisine, 1420 Broad St., you can enjoy a three-course dinner with a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert for $24.99. A starter choice features Causa Limena, described as a potato casserole, served with chicken, tuna and octopus.

At La Casona, a Colombian restaurant at 768 Broad St., you can order one of three specialties, including Arroz Paisa, a rice, meat and plantain dish for $15, from a Restaurant Week menu.

Six specials including shrimp and fries are on the menu at Sonrisa Restaurant, 48 Cross St., including three cheese and chicken pupusas for $10 and a Seafood Soup with shrimp, clams, calamari, mussels and a side of rice for $14.25.

A Dominican Hamburger, with fries, is a $10 special at Valentina La Fritura Restaurant, 590 Dexter St.

At Stanley's Famous Hamburgers, 535 Dexter St., you can get one of five sandwiches, including a Cheeseburger Club, with fries and drink, for $7.99.

Tacos, three for $9.99, are offered as are other specials at Tuxpan Taqueria, 355 Broad St.

Azucena's Bar & Restaurant, which opens at 9 a.m., has a breakfast special of Desuyano Tipco Salvadoreno, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, peppers, plantains, cheese, beans and two tortillas for $7 while two steak specials are offered at $10 and $11. They are at 1270 Broad St.

A local favorite breakfast spot, Sparky's Restaurant, 548 Dexter St., has a special for two eggs, homefries and toast for $3.95. For lunch, there is grilled cheese and soup for $7.99.

Also offering specials are La Fruta Loca, 883 Dexter St.; La Cantina Bar & Restaurant, 590 Dexter St.; Grated Mix, 663 Dexter St.; La Taberna Night Club, 695 Lonsdale Ave.; and 765 Lounge & Restaurant, 765 Broad St.

"Central Falls Restaurant Week is one of my favorite times of the year — it's an amazing time for our residents and visitors from across the state to celebrate the world of international flavors available in our One Square Mile," said Mayor Maria Rivera in a news release. Central Falls supports local restaurants and celebrates the diversity of the community by highlighting the international cuisine.
